In shock breaking news, Microsoft has announced a brand new edition to their thought to be dead Flight Simulator series at E3 in Los Angeles.

This new flight simulator is set for release sometime in 2020. With this new sim comes new techniques and utilities from Microsoft, using satellite data and Azure AI to create a beautiful simming world, which can be viewed in the trailer above.

“From light planes to wide-body jets, fly highly detailed and stunning aircraft in an incredibly realistic world,” Microsoft wrote in its teaser description.

The Flight Simulator will be available for Xbox via the Xbox Pass and PC. There has been no announcements regarding third party developers nor a release date at this time.

The Flight Sim series has been around since 1982, making it three years older than Windows. It will be great to see what Microsoft has to offer, we’ll be sure to keep you posted here at Flightsimcentral.
